The Lost Ark launch has been delayed. The game was supposed to launch at 9 AM PST, but shortly before the servers were supposed to go live, there was an official announcement that due to “deployment issues” the launch has been delayed. There’s no estimate on how long this will take but they do say that “we hope to have this resolved in a matter of hours”.
Demand for Lost Ark has been high this week with the three-day head start ending this morning and a full free-to-play launch, complete with 15 new servers across regions, scheduled with much anticipation. There is no word on what the deployment issues refer to, but the game is still downloadable from Steam. However, if you do that you will see a message that “App is not released” in your library.
The Amazon team is working on getting everything to work smoothly, and if it takes some more downtime to get there, then that’s what we’ll continue to see for now. They are assuring everyone that, “We want your time in Arkesia to be a great experience and we’re working hard to get Lost Ark live as soon as possible”.
With any new launch, most MMORPG fans already know that anything can (and often will) go wrong for a bit until things get sorted out. With Lost Ark, that the delay announcement came relatively close to launch time is unfortunate, but will hopefully make for a better experience when things do start rolling out again.
Head start was a successful one by most reactions so far, and with a full huge free to play release, with new servers, queues, and already some attempts to entice players over to lower population and new servers, the anticipation remains even if everyone has to start a bit later than they had planned.
